‘Jolie’ touch of solid brass luxury for Bayside Oasis

Jolie solid brass front door and cabinet handles hit natural materials brief in Marickville Oasis

High-end specialist construction and development company Bayside Built have featured Two Tease solid brass door and cabinet handles in a newly-completed project in one of Sydney’s most sought after suburbs.

Solid brass hits natural materials brief

The client’s brief for the project was clear – a thoughtful mix of natural materials that turned the home into a feel-good oasis with a rustic and organic touch.

Located on a small triangle-shaped plot in Marrickville, this modern, one-storey, three-bedroom home combines carefully selected interior elements for character and soul with state-of-the-art smart home technology.  A place that not only looks good, but works.

From the front, this heritage-listed home shows off its traditional facade, with Bayside selecting the Jolie Lune front door knob from Two Tease Architectural Hardware for the front door. Lune is hand-made in Europe from solid brass, using traditional sand-cast methods giving each handle a unique texture and authentic character. Bayside chose the Aged Gold finish to provide a beautiful contrast with the simple and classic black painted timber front door.

Exposed brick walls form one of the home’s main design features and create a visual connection throughout the house, between the original building and the extension. New brick walls were built from  bricks reused from existing walls pulled down during the renovation process.

Black floor-to-ceiling black-framed bi-fold doors maximise light and space and help to link the outdoor entertaining zones with the kitchen, dining and living area. Embracing the unusual shape of the land, a unique custom-made triangular-shaped plunge pool was added to make the most of the narrow backyard.

Handmade elements add warmth and character

The property’s bedrooms and bathrooms all follow the same interior guidelines, with features such as the  artisanal Jolie ‘One‘ solid brass cabinet handles adding warmth and character. Bayside selected the timeless Aged Bronze finish to add the perfect finishing touch for timber wardrobes.

Hand-made Morrocan concrete tiles also added authenticity while creating a bold contrast to the clean wall tiling. Luxurious rain showerheads, underfloor heating and exclusive steel-cut bench basins turned the bathroom into a private spa. Bayside designed timber veneer built-in joinery and floating vanities to offer space for washing appliances and necessities.

Embracing the unusual shape of the land, a custom-made triangular-shaped plunge pool and outdoor shower were added to make the most of the outdoor area.
